CALL FOR PAPERSThe Program Committee of the 24rd Annual Conference of the Association for Israel Studies invites scholars conducting research on any aspect of modern Israel, Zionism and the Yishuv to submit proposals for individual papers and organized panels. Panels and papers devoted to the main theme of the conference are especially invited – “Israel 2008: Sixty Years After 1948 – Are the Narratives Converging?” Other topics relating to the field of Israel Studies in broad perspective – such as the Israel-Arab conflict, the impact of the Holocaust on Israeli society, minorities, ethnicity, identity, state and religion, Israel-Diaspora relations, etc. are also welcome. Proposals should be accompanied by an abstract of 300 words as MSWord email attachment. (Include title of paper, name and email address of author with the text of the abstract.) Organizers of panels should collect abstracts from the panel participants and submit them together with a description of the panel. Graduate students should submit a letter from their thesis supervisor in support of the proposal, together with the abstract.
